I Love You

'Oh, God!' Kagome thought as she carried now-changing-in-to-human-form Inu-Yasha through the blizzard. There was another fight. They did get the shikon shard, but Inu-Yasha was badly injured and was unconscious now that he was turning in to human. 'A cave, hut, ANYTHING! So cold...' Her vision was getting blurry now. and Inu-Yasha was awfully heavy. Then she saw it. Saw the little cabin standing thankfully in one piece. "Just a little bit more. Come on Inu-Yasha."

She fell in to the floor as soon as she opened the door. Kagome shut the door and found a blanket in her pack. One blanket. Only one. She sighed. She took off her coat and lay it on the floor fuzzy side out. She half rolled, half dragged Inu-Yasha on and stripped off his wet clothes and wrapped the blanket tightly around him like a mummy.

Kagome found an old table and broke the legs. Inu-Yasha groaned. She started a fire by using her match and looked for some dry clothes. 'So c-c-c-cold-d-d.'  Kagome fell on the floor. 'Inu-Yasha...' as if he heard her, Inu-Yasha woke up to find Kagome unconscious next to him.  "Kagome!" her lips were blue and she was shivering uncontrollably. "Aw, you idiot." He moved her closer to the fire. Well, tried, but couldn't. His deep wound on his side hurt like hell. He did it anyway. Once crying out loud.  He sighed. only one thing left to do. He carefully took clothes off of her and lay her on the spot he used to be. Wincing 'cause of his pain. He ignored it. He went under the blanket with her. The shivering has stopped, but she was still a popsicle. He rubbed his hands against her body. He noticed that his 'claws' weren't claws anymore. 'just what I need, damn it!' He hugged her close to him.

Later Kagome woke up. She couldn't move, and found her self in Inu-Yasha's arms, who was fast asleep. He woke up. Kagome gazed in to his eyes. Inu-Yasha pushed himself away, blushing. 'Please no sits, please no sits, please...' "Inu-Yasha," Kagome said. "Um... thanks" he looked at her too. "You're... uh... welcome... I guess"

"Why?" she asked him.

"What do you mean, why?"

"Why did you save me?"

"You don't want me to save your life anymore?"

"No... but I thought you hated me. Wasn't I just a 'detector' to find the shards?"

"... No, I guess not" he said with a blush. Then he saw tears in her eyes.

"Why are you crying?"

"..." more tears.

"Hey, snap out of it!"

'I love him so much' she thought. 'but he doesn't love me. Even if he did, we can never work out. I want to be close to him, hold him, have the time of my life.  But I... can't.'

"Are you ok?!" Kagome looked at him with her sad, mysterious eyes.  Inu-Yasha gulped. 'Oh no, please don't love me. We can never work out'  'Oh, yes you can. You love her. That's all that matters' a little voice said. A voice that's been inside him ever since he met Kagome.  Kagome started sobbing silently, and Inu-Yasha automatically hugged her tight. 'What am I doing?  I have to let go, but... I love her...'  'Ha! So you finally admit it!'  'Shut up already!'

"Inu... Yasha" Kagome whispered. "I love you... I can't help it."  Inu-Yasha hugged her tightly. "Kagome. I... I love you too." she cried even more

He pushed her apart and looked in to her teary eyes. "I'm sorry." he whispered.  Then he lifted her head and kissed her softly on her lips.

She was happy, she was actually happy! She put her around his neck and lay down, pulling him with her. After several minutes, he removed his lips and hugged her even closer. She sat up. "You're hurt, your wound should be treated."  She got her first aid kit from her bag without getting up and started aiding his cut. There was some blood on her waist a little, too, and Inu-Yasha wiped it off using the blanket. He sat up too, and smiled. She smiled back. They slept together till morning.

When Kagome woke up, Inu-Yasha was already dressed. And soon so was she. She walked next to him in the door way.  He looked at her and she gave him a kiss.
