Kikyou :
Kikyou is a powerful miko [priestess]. The
townspeople of Sango's taijiya [demon-hunters] village, who had been entrusted the Shikon no Tama, gave it to Kikyou
to safeguard and purify. Inuyasha at one point came to steal the Shikon no Tama, but though Kikyou could have killed him,
she decided not to since she was a very merciful person. It intrigued Inuyasha, and he began to follow her everywhere. After
a time, he and Kikyou interacted a lot, and they fell in love. However, Naraku tricked Kikyou into thinking that Inuyasha
had come to kill her and take the Shikon, after she had told Inuyasha she would give it to him so that he could become completely
human. She tried to kill Inuyasha soon after the fake Inuyasha ran off with the Shikon, even though she was badly
wounded. Inuyasha was also tricked into thinking that Kikyou had betrayed him when Naraku took her form and shot at him. He
went after the Shikon as revenge, which had been placed back where it was supposed to be by Naraku. As he was escaping with
the Shikon, the real Kikyou used her last ounce of strength to seal Inuyasha to a tree. She died moments later. Now, having
been resurrected, she is living a half-life since her body cannot have the soul that's already been reincarnated in Kagome.
Her body is supported by the souls of the dead, brought to her by Shinidama Chuu [Soul-Catching Demons].
Personality:
Kikyou seems very sad and regretful. She has a lot
of endurance and grit since she's able to keep on going
though she is technically dead. Her "resurrected" personality is actually different from the personality she had when she
was alive. Her new personality is much more bitter, and she is easily angered.
Skills:
Kikyou has wonderful skill with a bow, and shoots
very powerful Hama no Ya [Purity Arrows]. Her holy powers give her a lot of resistance to Naraku's spells, and she can always
defeat any other "illusion" or "control" spells. The Shinidama Chuu are the youkai that she controls.
